Ultra undertake the design, manufacture and support for defence systems both as a Prime Contractor and as a Sub-contractor.

Ultra operates an ISO 9000 Quality Management System. We apply quality regulations strictly with the aim of improving our quality management and, to meet this commitment, annual process reviews are conducted in accordance with company procedures. We have 40 years experience of working within Defence and Quality standards. Ultra is also entirely familiar with US Military documents and STANAGs.

Ultra is fully conversant with and has complied with related standards adopted by NATO that ensure interoperability between NATO and coalition forces. These standards include both STANAGs and MIL standards. Ultra is approved under the Design Approval Organisation Scheme (DAOS) and DEF-STAN 05-123 to sign F100As, Declarations for Design Performance. This is a prerequisite for any airborne platform gaining airworthiness approval for both civil and military platforms. Ultra are also familiar with JSP 55X Military Airworthiness Document set which specifically provides guidance for military aircraft release. For some projects it is Ultra's policy to establish an Integrated Test, Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA) process as early as practical in the programme.
